W.C.A.T. TV 12

Welcome to the W.C.A.T. TV 12 website. It’s surprising how fast the world catches up with you when you are still trying to figure out what day it is!

Warren

West Warren

Our town has been around for over 250 years, going through America’s first bout with Native Americans, a Revolutionary War, a Civil War and every war thereafter.

Warren seems to attract many previous city folks that commute to work in Worcester or Springfield and return to this peaceful community at the end of the day.

Most of our historical sites are still in pristine condition due to the fact that nobody knew where they were, (equidistant between Worcester and Springfield in Massachusetts)

The Town of Warren Massachusetts was founded in 1834 and is located in Worcester County. Warren contains about 5000 year round residents.

HISTORICAL NOTE: Warren has the longest unbroken string of Benjamin Franklin Mile Markers in Massachusetts.

About Our Programs

Our cable access is a relatively new enterprise for our town. It’s only about 13 years old. We started with an equipment grant and matured to now filming and broadcasting all of the Selectmen’s meetings, community events, school committee meetings sports events and so much more. We even taped the showing of the Red Sox World Series trophy visit.

Staff

Arlene and Igor have been here the longest, then Lisa Mundell. She is our all-around person on the crew. She does just about everything. We’ve had at least three groups of students from Quaboag Regional High School intern with us. Teaching a youngster about cable TV when you have to read everything first is a challenge. Our present camera crew/technicians are right up to the minute with all this technology. After three years with us, Collin just joined the Cable Committee as a voting member. Lisa and Jeremy are turning out to be, not only good at computers, but camera angles and operational procedures. Patrick left us to join the US Navy but we’ll hold his spot open and put him back to work when he is home on leave.
